Founded in Saarbrücken in 2017, CeLaGo Sensors GmbH is one of the young Saarland-based companies which emerged from a transfer of research from the University of Applied Sciences in Saarland (htw saar). With the aim of establishing itself as a high-tech production company, the first step is being taken by launching highly sensitive strain gauges on the market.
As a developer and manufacturer of sensor elements, CeLaGo Sensors helps companies in the field of sensor and measuring technology to increase the performance of existing systems making them more stable, energy-efficient and/or more precise. Furthermore, it allows new fields of application to be opened up which would otherwise remain impenetrable with today's technology.
Through strong networks within the university environment and an affinity with innovative approaches, CeLaGo Sensors is the companion en route to new products and offers sensor elements which are consistently developed and manufactured taking the applicable industrial standards into account.
The company emerged from the research group for sensor and thin foil technology at the htw saar. Thanks to the project "nano SG", which was carried out within the context of the project "Exist-Forschungstransfer" for the transfer of knowledge among start-ups and which was sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for the Economy and Energy and the European Social Funds, it was possible to set the course for founding the company.
Similarly important support is also provided by the Business Angel Network of the Saarland (BANS) and by the association saarland.innovation&standort e.V. (saar.is). The FITT Institute for Technology Transfer and the ZeMA Centre for Mechatronics and Automation Technology are also important partners.
The current R&D project entitled "Smart Strain Gauges for Self-Monitoring Sensors - DMSplusX" is funded by the European Union through "Europäischer Fonds für Regionale Entwicklung "(EFRE) and by technology fundation in the Saarland" Zentrales Technologieprogramm Saar "of the State Chancellery of the Saarland. Based on thin-film technology, it is a new development of sensor elements that enables self-monitoring and thus meets the increasing demands on sensor systems.
